Why Yoga? Why Now?
I believe that we are all up against different systems of oppression and discrimination in our every day lives. We store these traumas in the body. Through yoga, we can come together in community and break up those spaces where we hold pain and lived experiences, and begin to build a stronger relationship to our bodies, minds, and spirits. In our current socio-political climate, I feel that is imperative for marginalized people to have a space to come together and heal ourselves individually and in community. Yoga shows us that we are our greatest teachers, healers, and leaders. We are everything we seek.
